Arsenal take on Tottenham on Sunday’s North London Derby, and the Gunner’s camp is already feeling the heat now as England International Emile Smith-Rowe is ruled out for 3’months.
Emile Smith-Rowe has been ruled out until last week of December following the difficult start to the new Premier league season due to several injuries and the England international will now miss out on a chance to compete for England’s World Cup team.
Mikel Arteta Arsenal’s will be without the service of their No.10 who has been undergone surgery on a groin injury early this week.
Arsenal currently have a growing list of Injury issues as they set to face Tottenham in the North London Derby on Sunday.
A statement from Arsenal website confirmed and read; “In recent months, Emile Smith Rowe has been experiencing discomfort in his groin, which has limited his training and match appearance.
“Following a significant setback at our Premier League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on September 4, and after further specialist consultations and discussions with our medical team, Emile underwent surgery to repair a damaged tendon in his groin.
“This successful surgery took place in London in the past few days and Emile’s rehabilitation programme is already underway. We are hopeful that Emile will return to full training in December.
“Everyone at the club will now be supporting and working hard with Emile to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible.”
The Gunner’s No.10 made only four appearances for Arsenal so far this season, all as a substitutes.
Smith Rowe last match in Arsenal jersey was the 17 minutes played against in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester United which proved to be the final game that forced the youngster under the knife.
